Sow a Seed to our Motorhome Project
|
For
every seed of at least $100, your name will be listed on
an electronic plaque which will hang inside the
motorhome.
Those who sow a seed of $500 or more will have their
photos in the photo collage on the electronic plaque we
will have on the wall of the motorhome. If you sow $500
or more, please e-mail your photo to info@markgorman.com

| June 15, 2010 Dear Friends & Ministry Partners,
 |
In my letter last month, I gave you an update on
Mark, following his most recent spinal procedure in April. Since that
letter, Mark has a new set of challenges with his spine. Kenneth assists
Mark with stretching exercises and other movements to help with Mark’s
pain. One evening, Kenneth slipped and accidentally dislocated some of
Mark’s ribs. |
Mark not only has hairline fractures in a couple of
his ribs, but also several tendons
and ligaments were torn. He has been in some of the worst
pain of his life. The doctors have explained how critical it
is that he takes it easy until all of these things heal –
which could take up to 2 months – to heal completely.
Mark had been looking forward
to getting back on the road, and this accident was a
set-back, which will delay his return to travel &
speaking. Mark’s spine specialist has been telling him for
years that we really need a motorhome or bus for Mark to be
able to comfortably travel to his speaking engagements,
without causing further damage to his spine. That just
seemed like an impossibility at this present time.
Well, just when you start
feeling overwhelmed, God does something to let you know that
He knows right where you are, and He knows the challenges
you are facing. |

This past weekend we received
a call from some friends who felt that the Lord was
prompting them to give a motorhome to our ministry. Since we
hadn’t seen them in quite a while, they had no idea of the
challenges Mark had been facing, in regards to traveling to
speaking events. So, this really is a ‘God thing’.
It’s a 35 foot motorhome with
2 slide-outs. It has a V10 gasoline engine and a 5kw
generator. They told us that the motorhome is a few years
old, and it will need some repairs before we can start
traveling in it. It needs new tires (6), shocks, an
alignment, repairs on one of the air-conditioners, the water
heater, and a few other items. But, they said that it is in
good driving condition.
Mark said that its best
feature is 'No Payments'. Ha!
Seriously, in the past few years, as you know, Mark’s spinal
problems have caused us to be off the road for nearly 6
months each year. That has resulted in significantly lower
income to the ministry, so we have had to deplete our
personal savings to keep the ministry going. And, since Mark
doesn’t want to be one of those preachers who’s always
asking for money, we have tried to keep things going,
without putting pressure on you, our partners.
Airline travel these days is a major hassle, plus the
increased pain levels when we're in the air, because of the
altitude and the pressurization.
And, the only way he’s able to do a road trip is lying on a
sleeping bag in the back of the SUV, while I drive. But it's
still very painful, especially for the first few days after
the drive, bouncing around in the back of an SUV.
And, since the most difficult and painful part of travel for
Mark is the ‘distance travel’ from our home to another
state, like Florida, Texas, Louisiana, the blessing with the
motorhome is that, once we’ve done the long drive, we’ll be
able to ‘stick around’ in an area, between churches or
speaking engagements. This way, he won’t have the long
travel to each place. We can stay in one area for a while,
with shorter drives between churches or events.
But, as you might imagine,
once you are ‘hooked up’ to electricity, water, etc, it
isn’t easy to disconnect everything every time you need to
drive to a store, or to a church. So, we need to get a
vehicle that we can tow behind us, that we can use to drive,
when we’re parked and set up for a stay. And, since I never
could learn how to drive a standard shift car, we really
need an automatic. But most cars with automatic
transmissions cannot be towed without damaging the
transmission, so we need to get an automatic that can be
towed. It doesn’t have to be new, but we do need something
that we can tow.
So, if you are as happy as I
am, that Mark is going to be able to speak more, travel
more, in a vehicle that won’t damage his spine, perhaps
you’d like to sow a seed to help us with the costs of
getting this motorhome ready for the road. In fact, when we
told Mark’s sister, Beverly about the motorhome, she and her
husband, Garland said that they wanted to sow a $1,000 seed
to help us get it ready for travel. I hope that some of you
will feel led to sow a seed, whether it’s $1,000 or $100, or
$50, or whatever God puts on your heart.
I think there are many of you
who feel as I do, that it is a shame that Mark’s tremendous
gifts for teaching, singing, ministry, motivation, and even
humor, are not available to more people, simply because of
the negative impact that travel has had on his spinal
condition. This motorhome truly is a gift from God, to
enable Mark to go more places and touch more people. I’m
asking you, as his wife, and as one of many, who have been
touched and blessed by hearing him speak. Please consider
sowing a generous seed now, so we can get the work done on
the motorhome, and get Mark ‘on the road again’.
As I’m writing this, I feel
that God is telling me that there will be some of you who
will give even greater amounts, $2,500, $5,000 or even
$10,000. If you aren’t able to give these amounts, then you
aren’t the ones who God is speaking to about sowing at these
levels. But I feel in my heart that God showed me that He is
leading some of you, whose lives have been deeply touched
through Mark’s ministry, and you are in a position to make a
big difference by sowing a significant seed at this level. I
encourage you to obey God. Give what He tells you – no more
– no less. If everyone does that, there will be enough.
If you feel led to sow a seed,
you may do so in our secure online store, at
www.markgorman.com (Scroll to the Motorhome Project).
And, of course, you can write
to us at:

you, and thank God for you.
Sincerely,

Gina Gorman

more than is needed for this project, it will be used to
support the ministry.
