3 CD's: How many times have we heard the statement, "Christians shouldn't have a lot of money"? Prosperity is a matter of great controversy among Christians. Does God want Christians to prosper? Obviously, there is a potential for abuse in the area of prosperity teaching, as with any other subject found in the Bible. Unfortunately, however, in regard to Christians and money, the error is usually on the side of poverty, rather than prosperity. Many Christians feel that in order for them to live a Godly life, they must live a life of poverty and lack. Proverbs 13:22 says, "A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children. How can we leave enough inheritance for our wife, children, and grandchildren, if we live in poverty? Most Christians could not afford to be a "Good Samaritan". The good Samaritan took a man to a hotel, paid for a week's lodging, and all his meals for that week. He also guaranteed the innkeeper that he would be back at the end of the week to pay for any additional expenses the man had incurred during that week. He did all of this with cash. How many Christians are in a financial position to do this for someone else, without using a credit card? In II Corinthians 9:11 (NIV), God tells us that the person who sows generously "will be made rich in every way, so that you can be generous on every occasion." This tells us that God wants His people to be generous and to prosper. In fact, Proverbs 11:25 tells us that the generous man will prosper. God is generous, and He rewards generosity! In this teaching series, Mark tells the listener that, "God wants to give you as much money as He can trust you with." Learn these truths from God's Word, and begin living in God's abundance for you today!
