Spiritual Warfare

All spiritual warfare is prayer, but not all prayer is spiritual warfare.  How many times have we heard preachers say that satan is a toothless lion, who can only roar?  If I were the devil, I’d want all Christians to believe that.  The Bible says that satan goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may DEVOUR.  Unless he’s going to “gum you to death”, satan still has his teeth.

Remember, God told us in Ephesians 6, to “put on” the Whole Armor Of God.  Why would God tell us to put on body armor, If satan can’t harm us?  The fact is that satan is powerful.  Only God is more powerful than satan.  That’s why James 4:7 tells us that we can only resist the devil, after we have submitted ourselves to God.

Satan isn’t afraid of all Christians, only submitted Christians.

Because when we are submitted to God, His authority flows through us, and we can resist the devil.  And he will flee – not from me – but from the authority of God flowing through a submitted Christian.

Satan wants us to believe that he is in hell.  No, he’s the “prince of the power of the air”.

Satan is in the spiritual realm, beneath God.  He was evicted from God’s heaven when he tried to rebel against God’s authority.  So, he still exists in the spiritual realm, beneath God’s heaven.  That is why we need to engage in spiritual warfare.
